See Export Service Fees for indicative costs to ship laptops to various locations. Prices are subject to change, based on actual changes in local taxes, duties and contractor costs.
Firstbase exports laptops from the US to most locations worldwide . Our in-house crew of fulfillment specialists manage and execute international shipments from a dedicated export facility within our flagship US Warehouse. This document describes the steps required to export laptops to your employees.
If you would like to export to a country not on this list, or would like a formal quote, please email support@firstbase.com with your shipment details.
Before you can initiate an export, the countries you want to export to need to be configured in your account. If you are adding a new region (not included in your original Order Form during account setup), please contact your CSM to add it to your account.
👉 Please note:
Export services are subject to these important constraints:
- Laptops only. We are limiting our export service to the laptop category, in order to keep our pricing and services streamlined for customers.
- Laptops must be new and unopened. There is a higher export barrier placed on used equipment, which Firstbase cannot support at this time.
- Laptops must be Customer Procured (not purchased from Firstbase) OR - if purchased from Firstbase - not enrolled in your organization’s ABM or Autopilot account (we cannot export enrolled equipment due to our channel agreements with Apple and other PC brands.
Process
Follow the steps below to add stock to the Export Hub in our US warehouse. When an order is submitted for a team member in an “export only” region, we will automatically execute the export shipment from your available stock in the Export Hub.
There are three ways to initiate export shipments with Firstbase:
1. Creating a customer shipment notice for SLC Export Hub
Step 1: Submit a shipment notice, selecting SLC Export Hub as the destination warehouse. For instructions on how to submit a shipment notice, please review the help desk article.
Step 2: You’re all set!
- Your shipment status will update to
Completed
in the Shipment Notices page when we receive all items in your parcel, and inventory them in theSLC Export
facility in Salt Lake City. - When you submit orders for your workers in designated export regions, we’ll fulfill those orders via export from this stock.
2. Creating an inventory order for SLC Export Hub
Step 1: In the Inventory Orders
page, navigate to Actions
in the upper right of your screen, and select Place inventory order
from the dropdown. The New order
modal will appear.
Step 2: In the New order
modal, select Product
and Quantity
from the dropdowns. Then select SLC Export
from the Warehouse
dropdown and Place order
. The Confirm order
modal will appear.
Step 3: In the Confirm order
modal, ****review your order and select Yes, place my order
Step 4: You’re all set!
- Your shipment status will update to
Completed
in theInventory Orders
page when we receive and process your order inSLC Export
- When you submit orders for your workers in designated export regions, we’ll fulfill those orders via export service from this stock.
3. Transferring existing inventory to SLC Export Hub from Warehouse SLC (main facility)
This allows customers to transfer new and unopened inventory to the SLC Export
facility from existing stock held in Warehouse SLC
(the main facility intended for US domestic shipments). It is not possible to make a transfer request in the Firstbase app today, so this requires submitting a support email to support@firstbase.com.
Step 1: Submit a support ticket to support@firstbase.com, requesting the SKUs and quantities you would like to transfer from Warehouse SLC
to SLC Export
.
Step 2: We’ll take it from there:
- Our team will complete the transfer, typically within 3 business days.
- A new shipment notice will appear in the
Inventory Orders
page to signal that the transfer has been initiated. This is done by our Operations Team to create a record of the transfer, and does not reflect any new order quantities pending shipment from an OEM. - When the transfer is completed, the inventory order status is updated to
CANCELLED
(since no net new inventory is received, only transferred from one location to another).
Step 3: The transferred equipment is now available to export from. When you submit orders for your workers in designated export regions, we’ll fulfill those orders via export service from this stock.
