This guide explains how to send laptop stock to our export facilities, located within our US and Singapore warehouses, and place export orders for global delivery.
Refer to Export Service Rates for estimated costs to ship laptops to various locations from the US and Singapore export hubs. Prices may vary due to changes in taxes, duties, or contractor costs. The rate card is not exhaustive - Firstbase can export to most locations worldwide. For unlisted destinations, email support@firstbase.com with delivery details to have them added.
Quotes are optional for placing orders but available upon request.
Before exporting, ensure your account is configured for the destination countries. For regions not included in your original Order Form, contact your Customer Success Manager to add them.
👉 Please note:
Export services are subject to the following constraints:
- Laptops only. Export is limited to laptops to maintain simplified pricing and customs brokerage services.
- New and unopened. There is a higher export barrier placed on used equipment, which Firstbase cannot support at this time.
- Customer-Procured or Non-Enrolled Devices: Laptops must either be customer-procured or, if purchased from Firstbase, not enrolled in your organization’s ABM or Autopilot accounts. Channel agreements prevent Firstbase from exporting enrolled devices from Apple and other PC brands.
- High-Value Shipments: Export rates apply to orders with a declared value up to $10,000 USD. For shipments exceeding this value, email support@firstbase.com for a custom quote.
Process
Once you’ve added the destination country to your service agreement, and added employees to the platform, export orders follow a 2-step process:
1. Send Inventory for Export
Use the shipment notice feature (help desk article) to send laptops to one of our export facilities. Export orders can only be fulfilled if inventory is available in our US or Singapore export hubs (named “Warehouse SLC Export” or “Warehouse Singapore Export” in the platform).
👉 Note:
- Alternatively, you may submit an inventory order for Firstbase-supplied, non-enrolled equipment. Most customers use shipment notices so their third-party suppliers can enroll devices in ABM or Autopilot, ensuring they arrive already enrolled.
- Rather than ship new inventory, you may request a transfer of existing inventory from the main warehouse (used for domestic shipments) to the export hub. Currently, this transfer cannot be made directly in the Firstbase app. Submit a support email to support@firstbase.com with the SKUs and quantities you’d like to transfer. Our team will process the transfer within 3 business days, moving units from your main warehouse inventory to the export hub.
- Bulk Warehouse Transfers: Firstbase can transfer bulk equipment between international warehouse locations upon request. Email support@firstbase.com for a quote.
2. Submit the Order
This follows the same standard order flow. Orders for employees in designated export regions (where Firstbase lacks local warehousing/procurement) are fulfilled automatically from available export stock. In these regions, export is the only option available.
👉 Note:
- For regions where Firstbase has local operations (e.g. Canada, see the full list here), the platform currently does not allow you to specify whether an order should be fulfilled locally or via export. If you wish to use export stock instead of local procurement, you must email support@firstbase.com with shipment details before placing the order. This ensures we coordinate the shipment correctly. However, exporting to these regions is less common due to higher costs and longer lead times, so local sourcing is recommended.
