Firstbase enables you to use your inventory more efficiently with Used Equipment Preferences. Click the video below for a quick demo video.
Here's how it works:
1. In the Packages tab, select the package you'd like to customize.
2. Select the equipment category you'd like to set used inventory preferences for.
3. Expand the Advanced settings menu.
4. Choose your Equipment preferences from the following options. This is to tell us which type of equipment you'd like us to prioritize to ship
- Prioritize new equipment before shipping used
- Prioritize used equipment before shipping new
- Only ship new equipment (default option)
5. Click Save, and you're done!

1. What are Used Equipment Preferences?
Used Equipment Preferences allow you to tell us if you want certain types of equipment prioritized as part of a package. For example, if you only want to ship new computers or want us to prioritize used keyboards over new keyboards.
These settings can be set at a package-category level. For example, you can set different preferences for computers than keyboards on a given package.
2. Does it mean Firstbase will always ship orders based on these preferences?
We will do our best to satisfy and meet your preferences. When fulfilling, we will consider items in the warehouse as ready to ship. We want to ensure we get the equipment to your workers on time.
Sometimes, a used equipment item may be processed (e.g., in transit to the warehouse or in the grading process) and not ready to ship. If your preferences are set to prioritize used equipment but also allow for new equipment, and a new item is available, we will send that one instead.
3. What is the default option?
All packages-categories will default to “Only ship new equipment.” Unless otherwise changed.
4. What grade items will be sent as used?
All items that fall under the following grading can be shipped as used:
- Used - Like New
- Used - Good
- Used - Fair
Items on grade 4 (Used - Poor) and 5 (Unusable) will only be sent if admin approves this via communication with our support team.
