Overview
Firstbase supports global equipment delivery for distributed teams around the world. While our ordering process is largely standardized, Brazil has a unique requirement that must be included when placing an order for an employee located there.
What is a CPF and Why It’s Required
For any order shipping to a residential address in Brazil, the recipient’s CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas) must be included in Address Line 2 of the shipping address.
The CPF is a Brazilian tax identification number, similar to a Social Security number, issued by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Bureau. It is required by local authorities and carriers to successfully process and deliver shipments to residential locations.
Best Practices & Considerations
-
Collect CPF numbers during onboarding or store them in your HRIS so they’re available when needed. Example format: CPF: 123.456.789-00
-
If the CPF is missing, our Support Team will follow up with your admin to collect it. Orders without a CPF will be delayed, as they cannot be processed by the local warehouse or delivery partner.
-
Ensure accuracy to avoid failed deliveries or customs issues.
B2B Shipments in Brazil
For business-to-business (B2B) deliveries to commercial addresses in Brazil, a CPF is not required. However, you must provide the recipient company’s CNPJ number (Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica), which is the official business tax identification number in Brazil.
When placing a B2B order:
-
Add the CNPJ to Address Line 2 of the shipping address. Example : CNPJ: 12.345.678/0001-90
-
Ensure the delivery address matches the company’s registered business location to avoid delays or customs issues.
