Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I Cancel a Recycling Request?
Cancellation is not guaranteed once the request has been processed.
- You can cancel only if the status is "Unavailable - Recycling Requested".
- Once the status changes to "Unavailable - Marked for Destruction" and beyond, cancellation is no longer possible.
If needed, contact Support or your CSM for assistance.
How Can I Track the Status of My Asset During the Recycling Process?
You can track your recycling request by checking the Asset Management page in Firstbase. Here's how the status and deploy reasons progress:
- Unavailable - Recycling Requested → Initial request submitted
- Unavailable - Marked for Destruction → Warehouse team has collected the item (⚠️ Some assets may remain in this stage indefinitely, even after a CoD is issued. This is normal, as not all assets are physically destroyed.)
- Unavailable - Out for Destruction → Asset is en route to recycling facility
- Archived - End of Useful Life - Destroyed → Asset has been recycled or securely destroyed
💡 Note: Some assets will remain in "Marked for Destruction" even after a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) is uploaded. This happens when the asset is securely wiped and decommissioned but not physically destroyed. The CoD serves as confirmation that data erasure and disposal were handled properly.
