Here's a summary of changes made as part of our April 2024 release:
1. Create and edit assets in the Firstbase app
We launched the ability to create and edit assets directly on our platform. This feature includes:
- Creation of Customer-Supplied Asset Records -> You can now add any assets into the Firstbase app.
- Editing of Customer-Supplied Asset Records -> You can.now make adjustments to existing asset records ensuring that information remains accurate and up-to-date.
Read more about this feature here.
2. Product Catalog
The Product Catalog provides the ability to manage and add products you want to procure for your organization.
- "Your Catalog" Page -> You can now view all products currently assigned to your organization in one single page. This helps with oversight and management of all your procurement options.
- Easier to add products -> You can now explore and add products directly from Firstbase’s product offerings. The new “Add Product” functionality allows for a smooth selection process to find the best solutions for your needs.
- Region-specific offerings -> Products can be added per region, allowing you to deploy exactly what’s needed, ensuring compliance and relevance.
- Transparent pricing options -> You now have access to pricing information per region as part of the catlog, with the choice between subscription or purchase models (if applicable).
Read more about the Product Catalog here.
3. Admin (Read Only) Role
We launched a new Admin (Read Only) role that allows Admins to add members of their organization with view-only permissions to the Firstbase app. Read Only Admins are not able to place orders, returns, inventory orders or do any type of actions in the app. They also cannot edit packages, create users, etc. The only option they have is to view information and/or export it.
Additional information on the Admin (Read Only) role is available here.
4. Workday Update Integration
We launched a new automation workflow that allows user details (e.g. address, phone number, personal email) to be updated when they are updated in Workday. The integration keys off the user's work email.
See instructions to set up and additional details on this integration here.
5. Adding comments to assets returned
We’ve introduced the option for admins to add comments for return or replacement reasons. This helps provide Firstbase with more context on why something needs to be returned or replaced. This feature is particularly useful for damaged or malfunctioning devices, as it allows admins to let us know what specifically is wrong with them. By doing so, we save the warehouse team the time and effort of figuring it out themselves.
