1. What is an asset tag?
An asset tag is a digital label you can assign to asset records in Firstbase to help organize and track them easily. It simplifies finding and managing assets based on criteria you define.
2. How do I access asset tags?
To access asset tags, navigate to the "Asset Management" section, and you will see a "Tags" column as well as a "Tag" filter.
By clicking on any asset, you will also see the tags section in the modal with "Asset details" that opens up.
3. How do I add and remove a tag for a given asset?
To add a tag to an asset:
- Navigate to "Asset Management."
- Click on the … drop-down next to the asset name (or click on the asset name) to open the asset tray.
- Under the “Details” tab, hover over "No tags" and click.
- Type in your tag. Select one from the pre-existing list if available, or create a new one by clicking on "Create tag."
To remove a tag:
- In the asset tray, hover over the tags and click.
- Click on the X next to the tag you want to remove.
4. How many tags can I add to an asset?
There is no current limit on the number of tags you can add to a single asset record.
5. I added a tag but misspelled it. Can I update it or permanently delete it?
No, if you misspell a tag, you need to create a new tag with the correct spelling to replace it. Currently, there's no way to update existing tags or permanently remove them on platform.
6. Are tags included in the asset CSV export?
Yes, they are included in the asset details export.
7. Can tags be accessed via public API?
Yes, tags can be retrieved via public API.
