Overview
The Zendesk - Firstbase integration allows you to view inventory details in Zendesk for a user when viewing a Zendesk ticket.
Use Cases Supported
1. Viewing inventory details in Zendesk for Firstbase users.
This workflow focuses on showing the admin all inventory tied to a Firstbase user directly in Zendesk.
- A user exists in Firstbase (based on their email address).
- The user has equipment assigned.
To show you the inventory details, we use a custom Zendesk app built using ZAF (Zendesk Apps Framework) that populates details in Zendesk from Firstbase's Public Inventory API.
Setup Instructions
1. Download the Zendesk-Firstbase archive file.

You'll be uploading this into Zendesk in the next steps.
2. Upload the app to Zendesk
Go to Zendesk > Admin center > Zendesk Support App.
Click “Upload Private App.”
Enter “Firstbase” in the App Name and select the archive file downloaded earlier as the App File, then click on “Upload”. Confirm again by clicking “Upload” in the confirm popup.
3. Create an API Token in Firstbase
Go to Firstbase Admin > Settings > Firstbase API (link) and generate a new API Token:
4. Set up the app parameters and Install the app
Fill the “API Token” parameter required by the app with the token created in Firstbase, and click on “Install”:
5. Test!
You can now see the Firstbase App listed under My Apps:
And it will also appear inside Zendesk tickets. You are all set!
You can now use the app to check inventory details for a user within a ticket whenever you need.
