The Okta - Firstbase integration streamlines your onboarding, updating, and offboarding processes. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up the integration your Okta API key.
Prior to connecting your Okta account via the Firstbase "Integrations" page, we recommend creating a new user and assigning an Okta read only admin role (here's the details about this role).
The specific data we will get from Okta when set up with this role is the data found under the user Okta object here. This includes first name, last name, personal and work email, country, department and phone number.
Once you've created this role, you'll need to assign this role to a user and generate an API Token for it
Once you have the API token, you can log into Firstbase. Click on Settings - Integrations on the left navigation bar and select the Okta Integration.
Integration Steps
1. Login to the Firstbase App and visit the "Integrations" Page
Find Okta in the list of "Available Integrations" and click on it to start connecting to your Okta account.
2. Verify Administrator Role
You must be an administrator of Okta to link to Firstbase successfully. If you're an admin, click "I am an admin" to proceed.
3. Review Data Permissions
Review the types of data Firstbase can read:
- Employees
- Employments
- Groups
- Locations
Click "Next" to continue. Note: By proceeding, you agree to the End User Terms.
4. Enter Okta Subdomain
Enter the subdomain for your Okta account. For example, if you sign in at "acme.okta.com", use that on the field provided.
4. Enter Okta API key
Find your API key in your Okta account settings and Copy and paste the API key into the Firstbase integration window.
Once you copy your API key, simply paste it on your Firstbase window pop up and you should be good to go!
5. Confirm Integration
After successfully authenticating, you'll receive a confirmation that your Okta account is now integrated with Firstbase.
